Our Mission

ZenSha started with a simple idea, born from a family trip to Japan and a love for matcha.
After coming home, we kept adding matcha into our protein shakes, chasing that clean energy and calm focus. But the process was messy and inconvenient — and getting high-quality matcha in New Zealand was hard to find and often expensive. That’s when the idea clicked: why not create a premium blend that brings the best of both worlds, matcha and protein, in one simple scoop?

We’re three year 13 students from Nelson College who set out to create something better, a product that’s clean, effective, and made with the needs of everyday people in mind. So we created ZenSha: a blend of high-quality Japanese matcha and New Zealand whey, crafted with care right here in Nelson.

Simple as that, just high-quality matcha and protein in one.

Adam, Alfie, and Roman, the trio behind ZenSha. Adam (left) leads our sales and marketing, Alfie (centre) is our CEO and drives the vision, and Roman (right) looks after finance and production. Together, we’re building a brand that blends quality, purpose, and energy, all crafted locally in sunny Nelson.

At ZenSha, we bring together the best of Japanese matcha by sourcing from multiple renowned tea regions — including Hoshino in Fukuoka, Uji in Kyoto, and Saiyama in Saitama. Matcha of this quality is rare and often expensive in New Zealand, making our blend something truly special. As a carefully crafted new wellness product, it brings premium matcha into your daily routine.
